Bulldogs Conclude Play in Georgia Tech Invitational

ATLANTA---Junior Monika Dancevic of the Georgia women’s tennis team provided the lone singles win Sunday as the Bulldogs closed out play in the Georgia Tech Invitational.

Dancevic defeated Georgia Tech’s Whitney McCray handily in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3. Kelley Hyndman forced No. 5 Kristi Miller to three sets, but eventually succumbed to the All-American, 7-5, 2-6, 6-0. Naoko Ueshima, Adrienne Elsberry and Cameron Ellis all dropped straight-sets contests to their Georgia Tech opponents on the day.

One Georgia duo also earned a victory as Ueshima and Ellis teamed up to hand Florida State’s Lauren Macfarlane and Jessica Wente an 8-3 loss.

The team’s next tournament will be in Bloomington, Ind., in the Hoosier Classic on Oct. 5-7.
