September 14, 2008 - The No. 6-ranked Georgia women's golf team fired the second-best round in school history on Monday, a 9-under 279 that staked the Bulldogs a 13-shot advantage entering Tuesday's final round of the College of Charleston's Cougar Classic.
September 14, 2007 - Former football All-Americans Ben Zambiasi and Royce Smith and former NCAA team and individual champion gymnast Hope Spivey were inducted into the University of Georgia’s Circle of Honor. This is the school’s highest tribute paid to former athletes and coaches. Zambiasi, Smith and Spivey were honored at the induction banquet on Friday, Sept. 14,2007 at the Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall, where they are permanently enshrined in the Circle of Honor exhibit and recognized at the Georgia-Western Carolina football game on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007.
September 14, 2000 - Georgia head swimming Jack Bauerle, who served as an assistant coach for the women's 2000 U.S. Olympic swim team, marched in the Opening Ceremonies for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.
September 14, 1991 - Georgia athletic director and Auburn graduate Vince Dooley received the Walter Gilbert Award, Auburn's highest honor for former student-athletes, at the Tigers' game with Ole Miss.
