The Stegeman Coliseum Training Annex houses practice facilities for the gymnastics team. A satellite athletic training room, which was entirely constructed in 2007, is immediately adjacent to the gymnasium. Glass sliding doors separate the two areas, allowing individual treatment and rehabilitation to take place simultaneously with team workouts under direct supervision.
This athletic training room is stocked with two treatment tables, a massage table, and taping deck. Several modalities, such as electrical stimulation units, ultrasound, a hydrocollator, ice machine/freezer, and whirlpools are available. The gymnasium houses several upright bikes, as well as an elliptical machine and a Cybex glider for active warm-up in conjunction with rehab. Other rehabilitation tools include tubing, dumbbell and cuff weights, medicine balls, Swiss balls, balance equipment, and foam rolls among other things.
The Gymnastics’ Satellite Athletic Training Room is staffed by one full-time certified athletic trainer.
