June 9, 1990 - Georgia wins its first national championship in baseball and the first for the SEC with a 2-1 win over Oklahoma State at the College World Series. Freshman Stan Payne earned the win while junior Dave Fleming got the save in front of a crowd of 16,842 in Omaha, Neb.

June 9, 2007- The Georgia women finished ninth with 24 points at the NCAA Outdoor Track Championships, which was the Lady Bulldogs' fourth straight top-10 national outdoor finish in a row.

The Bulldog 4x400-meter relay team (Justin Gaymon, Michael Proctor, Brian Etelman and David Dickens) clocked a 3:04.13 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Sacramento, Calif., to give Georgia its first All-American men's relay team since 1991. The team's finish was the second fastest in school history at the time.

Senior Krista Woodward finished third in the javelin at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, making it the fourth time in her career where the British Columbia native took fourth place or better and earned All-American honors. The four-time Southeastern Conference champion left Athens with the No. 1 mark in school history (183-11), which was also a Canadian national record.

June 9, 2007 - Georgia golfers Brian Harman and Chris Kirk combined for six victories to help the United States defeat Europe 18-6 and reclaim the Palmer Cup.

June 9, 2007- Legendary coach Andy Landers will be enshrined into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame this weekend in ceremonies conducted in Knoxville, Tenn., site of the Hall of Fame a short drive from Landers' childhood home in Maryville, Tenn.
