This Week's Spotlight
NCAA Individual Selections

Once the team tournament has concluded, here is a look at some of the top singles players and doubles teams looking for an individual championship as well.

Once the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Tennis team champions are crowned in Athens, competition will begin for the singles and doubles champions as well. The first round of singles will begin May 23 followed by the first round of doubles May 24. All four finals are slated for Monday, May 28 with men’s doubles at noon, women’s doubles at 1 p.m. and both singles at 7 p.m.

For the women, several individuals have remained atop the singles rankings all year long and are looking to take their regular-season success into the NCAA Tournament. Miami’s Audra Cohen has been the top-ranked player all year long and will enter the NCAA Singles Tournament as the No. 1 overall seed with a 34-2 record. LSU sophomore Megan Falcon came on strong in her debut as a Lady Tiger, currently owning a 34-2 record as well. She is the tournament’s No. 2 seed. Melanie Gloria, who handed Cohen one of her two losses, is the No. 3 seed followed by USC’s Lindsey Nelson, last year’s NCAA singles runner-up. Suzi Babos (California) the defending NCAA Singles Champion, Kristi Miller (Georgia Tech), Natalie Frazier (Georgia) and Megan Moulton-Levy (William & Mary) round on the top eight seeds.
