Stewart Takes Third At Collegiate Reining Championships

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. --- Sophomore reiner Kate Stewart earned third-place honors at the 2007 Collegiate Reining Championships hosted by the National Reining Horse Association. This event features the top collegiate riders from across the country that had to be chosen to compete or qualify through nomination.

"We were all really excited Kate was chosen to show," said assistant coach Carly Veldman. "She had an incredible regular season with us and was a standout reiner all year. We knew she would do well at the Championships and she did."

Stewart finished her second year as a Bulldog with 11 wins and just one loss including a perfect 8-0 regular season. In addition, she averaged better than a 70 and was awarded MVP honors versus Stephen F. Austin on Nov. 18.
