Middleton, Greer Selected To NFCA Region Teams

ATHENS, Ga. --- The National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) announced on Thursday that the Georgia Bulldogs placed two student-athletes on its NFCA All-Southeast Region teams.
Outfielder Kellie Middleton was named a First Team performer, while outfielder Charvi Greer was selected to the Second Team.
Middleton was honored with First Team accolades after posting a team-high .387 batting average with 16 doubles, five triples, five home runs, 42 RBI and 46 stolen bases. The right-hander currently leads the Southeastern Conference in hits (82) and stolen bases. She also ranks second in doubles and triples, third in total bases (123), fourth in runs (50), seventh in on base percentage (.470), and ninth in batting average.
Greer tallied Second Team honors thanks to hitting .354 with 14 RBI and 39 stolen bases. The native of Auburn, Ala., posted 19 multi-hit games in 2007. She currently ranks fifth in the SEC in stolen bases.
Third-seeded Georgia opens play in the NCAA Regionals on Friday at 8 p.m. EDT., against the No. 2-seeded Nebraska Huskers.
