Williams, Crumley Assume New Titles In Athletic Association

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, GA. --- Carla Williams, Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator since July, 2004, has been promoted to Sr. Associate Athletic Director according to an announcement by Director of Athletics Damon Evans at the quarterly meeting of the UGA Athletic Board.

Evans also said that Frank Crumley, who has served as Sr. Associate Athletic Director since July, 2004, has assumed the title of Executive Associate Athletic Director.

Williams will retain her current duties as well as those of the Senior Woman Administrator but will assume additional responsibilities in the Association.

After graduating from Georgia with Bachelor of Arts (1989) and Master of Public Administration (1991) degrees from Georgia, Williams served as an assistant women's basketball coach (1991-96) and Assistant Director of Compliance (1996-97) at UGA. Before returning to Georgia in 2004, the native of LaGrange held positions as Associate and Assistant Athletic Director at Vanderbilt and a graduate assistant at Florida State while earning her Doctor of Philosophy degree.

Over the past three years, Crumley has served as the Athletic Association’s chief financial officer and also had oversight of the day-to-day operations. Evans said he will continue in that role of the Association’s second in command. He has been a member of the Athletic Association since 1991 holding positions as Assistant Marketing and Promotions Director, Assistant Ticket Manager, and Director of Business Operations.
