Student-Athletes Recognized At Leadership Dinner

ATHENS, Ga. The University of Georgia Athletic Association recently presented awards to swimmers Claire Maust, Will Thorburn and Kara Lynn Joyce, tennis player John Isner, softball player Kasi Carroll and basketball player Rebecca Rowsey at the annual Student Leadership Dinner.
Carroll (Norris City, Ill.) and Thorburn (Marietta) picked up the Marilyn Vincent and Dick Bestwick Scholar-Athlete Awards as the senior student-athletes graduating with the highest grade point averages.
Rowsey (Henderson, Tenn.) and Isner (Greensboro, N.C.) earned the Clifford Lewis and Dick Copas Leadership Awards, which are given annually to student-athletes who demonstrate a commitment to their programs.
Maust (Alpharetta) won the Hornsby Howell Community Service Award in recognition of the significant amount of time she has given as a campus and community volunteer.
Joyce (Ann Arbor, Mich.) was recognized for winning the Honda Award as the nation’s top swimmer.
