In the Ranks
An Update of the Fila/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings

The teams at the top of both the men’s and women’s rankings remained the same this week. The Georgia men, still undefeated (26-0), just won the SEC Tournament last weekend in Baton Rouge, La., to enter the NCAA Tournament with a perfect record for the second straight year. The Cardinal women (20-1) finished their regular season schedule with a 4-3 defeat of California to claim their 20th Pac-10 title.

Following Georgia in the men’s top 10 are Virginia, Ohio State, Baylor, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Mississippi, UCLA, Illinois and USC.

Despite having four losses this season, the Georgia Tech women used an ACC Tournament title to jump back up to second behind Stanford. One-loss Georgia, which beat Georgia Tech in the regular season, moved up to third after defeating Florida for the SEC Tournament title last weekend. Rounding out the top 10 are Florida, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Clemson, USC, Miami and California. The only newcomer to either poll is the Indiana women at No. 25.
