LAS VEGAS, Nev. --- The No. 3-ranked Georgia men’s golf team ascended from second place to first at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship on Saturday after firing an 11-over 299. The Bulldogs own a three-stroke lead over No. 13 UCLA entering Sunday’s final round, with 10 teams within 13 shots of Georgia

Trailing the Bulldogs, who are at 8-over 584 through two rounds, are the Bruins at 587; No. 2 Florida at 591; No. 16 Texas A&M and No. 29 Arizona both at 592; No. 7 Clemson, No. 8 UNLV and No. 17 Georgia Tech in a three-way tie at 593; No. 26 Minnesota at 595; No. 4 Oklahoma State at 596; and No. 19 Wake Forest at 597.

Brian Harman led the Bulldogs with a 1-under 71 in the second round.

Georgia also counted a 75 from Michael Green, a 76 from Chris Kirk and a 77 from Brendon Todd. Hudson Swafford carded a 79.

Following a bogey on No. 1, Harman birdied No. 4, No. 5 and No. 7 to turn at 2-under. A bogey at No. 10 and double-bogey at No. 13 pushed Harman to 1-over before he rebounded with birdies at No. 16 and No. 18 en route to the clubhouse.

Overall, Kirk is tied for seventh at 144, three shots off a quartet atop the individual leaderboard at 1-under 141. Todd is tied for 10th at 145, Harman is tied for 13th a 146, Green is tied for 27th at 149 and Swafford is tied for 61st at 155.
