ATHENS, Ga. --- Former University of Georgia football coach and director of athletics Vince Dooley and current UGA gymnastics coach Suzanne Yoculan received two of the top awards at the annual Atlanta Sports Awards banquet on Thursday night at the Fox Theatre.

Dooley received the Lifetime Achievement Award after a Hall of Fame football coaching career (1964-88) and award winning tenure as Director of Athletics (1979-2004). Yoculan was named College Coach of the Year after leading the Georgia team to its second consecutive NCAA championship and seventh overall title.

Also, the 2006 Georgia gymnastics team, which finished its season at 36-0, was named Team of the Year.

UGA Basketball player Tasha Humphrey and gymnast Courtney Kupets were finalists for Collegiate Athlete of the Year.

Winners were determined by a vote of the Atlanta Sports Awards Voting Academy, whose members consist of local sports media, athletic administrators and corporate leaders.
