December 30, 1996 - Michael Chadwick scored 21 points as the Georgia men's basketball team upset No. 18 Maryland 73-65 to claim the Rainbow Classic title. The win gave the Bulldogs their first in-season tournament title since 1990.

December 30, 2002 - Vince Dooley is inducted into the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl Hall of Fame.
