Tori Moody Signs With Georgia Softball

ATHENS, Ga. --- Tori Moody, a catcher/infielder from Woodstock, Ga., has signed a national letter-of-intent to attend the University of Georgia and play softball for the Bulldogs, head coach Lu Harris-Champer announced on Thursday.
Moody, a four-year starting catcher, helped Woodstock High School to the Class 5A State Championship in 2006 and a state runner-up finish in 2005. Moody earned All-County, All-Region and All-State recognition in both the 2005 and 2006 seasons. She was also named Woodstock’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2006 and 2007.
“Tori is a strong athlete,” Harris-Champer said. “She has a cannon for an arm and can hit the long ball. Tori’s strength and upside make her an exciting addition to our team.”
Moody, a Honors/AP program student, is a current member of the Columbus Spartans travel team. In 2006, Moody helped the Georgia Fire travel team to a ninth-place finish at the 18 Gold Nationals, and in 2005, she helped the Fire to a finish of 17th at the 18A Nationals in 2005.
