Serbian Forward Zlovaric Signs with Bulldogs

ATHENS ----- University of Georgia basketball coach Dennis Felton on Saturday announced the signing of 6-9 wing player Drazen Zlovaric, a native of Serbia, to a national letter-of-intent to attend UGA next year and play for the Bulldogs.
Zlovaric, originally from Novi Sad, Serbia, came to the United States in November of 2006 as an exchange student. For his junior year he attended Cleveland High School in Cleveland, Tenn. This year he is attending the Sagemont Upper School in Weston, Fla.
At 6-9, 210 pounds, Zlovaric averaged 20.1 points and 11.3 rebounds for the Cleveland Blue Raiders last year. He is the nation’s 28th-rated small forward prospect, according to web-based recruiting service Scout.com. Rivals.com rates Zlovaric as the no. 40 small forward among prepsters nationwide.
“We’re just ecstatic to add another outstanding player in Drazen to our growing team,” Felton said. “At 6-9 he has tremendous size, length and athleticism for the 3’ position, and I love the way he plays with great energy all the time. Drazen has a fascinating story how he has reached this point in his young life, so it’s no surprise that he has such a strong hunger for success. We look forward to having him with us next year.”
The early national signing period began last Wednesday and continues until Nov. 21. Zlovaric joins a pair of Georgians as the Bulldogs’ 3-man signing class: 6-8 forward Howard Thompkins of Lithonia and 6-0 guard Dustin Ware of Powder Springs.
