On Friday night, Georgia christened the 2007-08 regular season with an 81-53 victory over Richmond.
Ashley Houts, the reigning SEC Freshman of the Years, paced the Lady Bulldogs with 17 points, nine rebounds, five steals and four assists in just 28 minutes. Tasha Humphrey chipped in 13 points and freshman Jasmine Lee added 11 in her collegiate debut.
Sunday’s game is the regular-season opener for George Mason. The Patriots return four starters from an 8-20 squad. Senior Lateisha Wade is the returning leading scorer at 13.0 points per game.
George Mason won its only exhibition outing, a 64-62 decision over Wilmington University, a Division II school from Delaware, last Monday.
