Bulldogs To Face Tennessee At Match Play Championship

GREENSBORO, Ga. --- The sixth-seeded Georgia men's golf team defeated Alabama 3-2 on Monday at the Callaway Golf Collegiate Match Play Championship at Reynolds Plantation's Oconee Course.

The Bulldogs' Brian Harman defeated Mark Harrell 2 and 1, Adam Mitchell topped Matt Hughes 5 and 4, and Hudson Swafford beat Gator Todd 3 and 1. With the win, the Bulldogs advanced to the Consolation B final, where they will take on 12th-seeded Tennessee. The Volunteers moved on by defeating Coastal Carolina 4-0-1. The winning team will finish fifth.

Earlier on Monday, the Bulldogs completed their match with Georgia Tech, dropping a 3-2 decision. Harman posted a 3 and 1 win over Chesson Hadley, but the Yellow Jackets' Cameron Tringale held off Rob Bennett 3 and 1 to clinch the match.
