Getting To Know Volleyball Student-Athlete Valentina Gonzalez

Question: What volleyball memory stands out the most for you?
Answer: At Puerto Rico, in a NORCECA under-18, when they where saying the MVP’s and they said, “Best middle blocker, Sandra Valentina Gonzalez.” I wasn’t expecting it.
Q: What is the best part of being a collegiate-athlete?
A: You get to know a lot of people that have the same interests as you and build great friendships with them.
Q: What are some of your favorite things to do in your spare time when you are not playing volleyball?
A: Hang out with my friends.
Q: What is the best advice you have ever received from a coach?
A: Just feel the game and play it.
Q: Who is your most influential role model(s)?
A: My mom
Q: What celebrity would you most like to meet?
A: Shakira
Q: Do you have a favorite type of music you listen to?
A: Punk-rock; alternative.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: The Fifth Element

A: Remember the Titans

A: Ground beef tacos with cheese.

Q: Name one thing that people would be surprised to learn about you.
A: I like to sew and make my own clothes
Q: What is the place that you haven’t traveled to, that you would most like to visit?
A: Brazil
Q: How did you spend your summer in 2007?
A: Summer school, volleyball, and going out with my roommates.

A: Everything happens for a reason!
Q: What would be your dream job?
A: Fashion designer
The Georgia volleyball team (12-4, 3-3 SEC) will return to action on Wednesday when the Auburn Tigers (9-8, 1-5) visit the Ramsey Center at 7 p.m. ET. The contest will be the fifth match of Georgia’s season-long five-match home stand. Following the meeting with the Tigers, the Bulldogs will take to the road traveling to Fayetteville, Ark., to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks (7-9, 1-5) on Friday at 8 p.m. ET.
Admission is free to all home matches.
Please note that with the midweek contest with Auburn that there will not be a “Getting to Know” feature this Wednesday. The series will continue next week.
