The Basics
Georgia hosts Vanderbilt in the last of three matchups against top-15 teams in a four-game span for the Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Dogs dropped tight decisions to No. 6 LSU and No. 4 Tennessee on the last two Sundays but will try to reverse those fortunes Thursday evening.

No. 16 Georgia is 14-4 on the year, including 2-2 in SEC action. The Lady Bulldogs lost to the Lady Volunteers, 52-41, before a sellout crowd of
10,523 just four days ago. Christy Marshall was the lone UGA player who reached double figures, scoring 12 points off the bench.

Vanderbilt is ranked No. 14 by the Associated Press and No. 11 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll this week. The Commodores are 16-2 on the campaign and 3-1 in league play. Vanderbilt's lone losses came to now-No. 1 Duke and at now-No. 24 Ole Miss last Thursday.

The series with Vanderbilt
Georgia enters tonight¹s matchup sporting a 28-17 advantage in its all-time series with Vanderbilt, including a 13-5 record against the Commodores at Stegeman Coliseum.

The Lady Bulldogs and Commodores last met in the quarterfinals of last season¹s SEC Tournament in North Little Rock, Ark. Sherill Baker scored 27 points and Cori Chambers added 20 as Georgia opened up a 43-23 halftime lead en route to a 69-47 victory.

Georgia and Vanderbilt produced a thriller in their last matchup in Athens, a 66-59 overtime win by the Commodores. Ashley Earley forced the extra session on a desperation 15-foot buzzer-beater from the right baseline, and Vanderbilt rode that momentum in outscoring the Lady Bulldogs 12-5 in OT.

Quoting Andy Landers...
On facing a third top-15 team in four games...

"It really isn't that much different than playing any other games in the Southeastern Conference. They're all a real challenge. You have to bring your 'A' game every night or you're going to be on the ropes."

On the challenges Vanderbilt presents...
"Vanderbilt is probably a little different (from the other SEC teams) from the standpoint of their execution. I think Vanderbilt is one of the top two or three teams in the league in terms of doing what they do and executing extremely well from start to finish."
