September 7, 2001 - Kim Black named one of 10 finalists for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award.

September 7, 2006 - The years of sweat and toil, or as he calls it “pure fun” paided handsome dividends for Dominique Wilkins. The University of Georgia alumnus and Atlanta Hawks legend will be inducted with five others into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame at the hall’s headquarters in Springfield, Mass.

September 7, 2006 - Georgia's Jack Bauerle has been chosen as the head coach for the United States women's swimming and diving team for the 2008 Olympics.
