September 29, 1956 - Ken Cooper's 36 yard field goal supplied the only score of the game as the UGA football team defeated Florida State, 3-0.

September 29, 1973 - The UGA football team dismantled the #19 ranked N.C. State Wolfpack 31-12 in Athens. The Bulldogs went on to finish the season 7-4-1, including a win over Maryland in the Peach Bowl.

September 29, 1988 - Former Bulldog All-American Teresa Edwards scored 19 points to lead the United States women's basketball team over Yugoslavia in the gold medal game at the Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea.

September 29, 1990 - Freshman running back Garrison Hearst ran for two touchdowns in the 4th quarter to lead the UGA football team over East Carolina, 19-15. Fellow running back, Larry Ware ran for 106 yards to diminish any fears of an upset.
