August 22, 2006 | General
ATHENS, Ga. --- Stephanie Ransom has been promoted to director of business operations for the University of Georgia Athletic Association, Senior Associate AD Frank Crumley announced on Tuesday.
"Stephanie has excelled at her duties since joining our office six years ago," Crumley said. "This promotion is well deserved, and I am confident she will continue to make significant contributions with her increased responsibilities."
Ransom joined the business operations office in June 2000 as assistant director of business operations. In her expanded role, she will coordinate all daily business operations and will assist with budget preparation and budget development and control.
Ransom was a letterwinner on Georgia's first four intercollegiate women's soccer teams (1995-98) and was the Bulldogs' first All-American in soccer. She was named both All-SEC and to the SEC Academic Honor Roll during each of her last three seasons and led the Bulldogs to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 1997 when she scored a school-record 18 goals.
A native of Gainesville, Ga., Ransom received her bachelor's degree in Marketing from UGA's Terry College of Business in 2000. She is married to Jeremy Ransom, an assistant director of event management for UGA Athletics, and they have one daughter, Madeline, born in July 2005.
