GLEF Scholarship Recipients To Be Honored At UAB Game

ATHENS, Ga. --- The 2006-07 scholarship recipients for the Georgia Lettermen Education Foundation (GLEF) will be recognized at halftime of Georgia's home football game at Sanford Stadium on Sept. 16.
 
In addition to the football letterman's reunion on Sept. 16, the 10 GLEF scholarship recipients will also be announced at the game.  Scholarship winners can be children of letterwinners from any varsity sport on campus and graduating seniors in high school or current college students are eligible.
 
This year's GLEF scholarship recipients include:
 
Kerry Ross Orrick, a sophomore who is the son of Chuck Orrick (Donaldsonville, Ga.), will receive the Frank G. Lumpkin, Jr. Scholarship Award, which is worth $4,000. Chuck Orrick lettered in football in 1979.
 
Andrew James Homeyer, a sophomore who is the son of Andy Homeyer (Watkinsville, Ga.), will receive the Vincent J. Dooley Scholarship Award, which is worth $3,000.  Andy Homeyer lettered in tennis from 1973-77.
 
Audrey Jean Russell, a junior who is the daughter of Rusty Russell (Statesboro, Ga.), will receive a scholarship worth $2,500.  Rusty Russell lettered in football from 1973-75.
 
William (Billy) Albert Saye, III, a freshman who is the son of William Saye, Sr., will receive a scholarship worth $2,000.  William Saye, Sr. lettered in football from 1953-55.
 
Philip Aldridge Goodwin, a sophomore who is the son of Robert Goodwin (Winterville, Ga.), will receive a scholarship worth $2,000.  Robert Goodwin lettered in football from 1977-79.
 
Seth Tomlin Pound, a freshman at Georgia Tech who is the son of Brickley Burks Pound (Columbus, Ga.), will receive a scholarship worth $1,500. Brickley Burks Pound lettered in volleyball in 1978.
 
Mary Katherine (Katie) Homeyer, who will graduate from Oconee County High School this year and will attend Gordon College in the fall and who is the daughter of Andy Homeyer, will receive a scholarship worth $1,500.
 
Luke Hammond Rogers, who will graduate from Oconee County High School this year and attend Gordon College in the fall and who is the son of Danny Rogers (Watkinsville, Ga.), will receive a scholarship worth $1,500.  Danny Rogers lettered in football from 1976-79.
 
Sarah Elizabeth Jackson, who will graduate from St. Vincent's Academy this year and attend UGA in the fall and who is the daughter of Kevin Jackson (Savannah, Ga.), will receive a scholarship worth $1,500.   Kevin Jackson lettered in football from 1980-82 and he is also the granddaughter of William Saye, Sr.
 
Amy Leah Chapman, a junior who is the daughter of Tim Chapman (Greensboro, Ga.), will receive the Raymond Clark Scholarship Award worth $1,000.  Tim Chapman lettered in football from 1980-81.
