Uga VI Turns Eight

SAVANNAH --- Uga VI, the country's most recognizable college mascot, turns eight years old today. Uga VI has been Georgia's mascot since 1999. Entering the 2006 football season, he has been on the sidelines for 67 wins, including two SEC Championships.

Georgia is also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Uga legacy this season. Uga I first appeared at a Georgia football game in the 1956 season home opener against Florida State.
