July 15, 1992 - NCAA golf champion Vicki Goetze was named SEC Female Athlete of the Year for all sports, becoming the first Georgia recipient of the award.

July 15, 1997- Despite playing their last games in a Georgia uniform as many as 30 years ago, Fran Tarkenton, Bill Stanfill and Terry Hoage have been named to an All-American team.

July 15, 1997- Georgia tennis player Hisham Hemeda led his native Egypt to a 3-2 win over Lithuania on the previous Monday in the regional of the Davis Cup tennis tournament.
