Bulldogs Sign Top Western Rider Sarah Locker

ATHENS --- The Georgia Equestrian team took a significant step in re-tooling its Western corps when Sarah Locker, a highly-regarded national prospect, signed a letter-of-intent to ride next season for the Bulldogs.
Locker recently completed her senior season at Lincoln County High School in Fayetteville, Tenn., where she graduated with honors and a 3.45 grade point average. She intends to pursue a Pre-Vet curriculum at UGA.
"'Wow' is the best expression I can think of in recruiting Sarah," said Georgia's Western coach, Carla Wennberg. "She has shown many, many events, yet she has focused her energy mainly on reining and working cowhorse. She is truly an all-around Western rider and a top recruit for us."
A multiple congress champion, Locker was the 14-18 champ at the 2005 National Reining Horse Derby. She was also the Palamino World and Reserve Champion in Youth Reining, as well as a finalist in Youth Horsemanship at the Palamino Worlds. In addition, Locker was a multiple top-10 finisher and finalist at the AQHYA World Show in Reining, Cowhorse and Cutting.
