The swimming and diving camp is more than just swimming laps and performing routine dives. We adhere to the philosophy of training the body and mind so that you leave camp a better swimmer or diver. The Bauerle Bulldog Swimming and Georgia Diving Camps focus on conditioning, stroke mechanics, stroke analysis for swimming, and the latest diving techniques, dryland work and drills to improve their springboard and platform performance in diving.
For Swimming: 1-2 hours a day long course training concentrating on conditioning. 1 hour stroke sessions daily, which includes work on starts, turns and stroke mechanics. And 1-2 hours a day short course training devoted to stroke mechanics and race strategy.
For Diving: Daily work in the heated diving well on 1 and 3 meter springboards, a 1, 3, 5, 7 1/2 and 10 meter tower, a state of the art bubbler system for learning new dives is available. Work will also be done on the trampoline and a dryboard with spotting rigs over each. A hot tub and stretching area will be used during the camp.
Video analysis of each swimmer or diver will be done and reviewed with them throughout the camps.
Daily dryland instruction includes flexibility, general conditioning and specific injury prevention exercises. A daily lecture series offers information on nutrition, team values, sportsmanship, goal setting and motivation. A rest period is mandatory after lunch.
