TEAM NOTES
Georgia has a five-game week planned, playing host to Western Carolina and Ga. Tech before an SEC road series with Florida. The game with WCU (22-18) is a makeup game due to an earlier rainout. Tuesday's game will be Fan Appreciation Night including free admission. Georgia posted an 11-0 win over the Catamounts here March 15th.
WCU plans to start junior RHP Tyler Johnson (2-1, 4.41) while the Bulldogs will have a staff night starting with freshman left-hander Jason Leaver (1-1, 5.06).
On Wednesday, Georgia faces the nationally-ranked Yellow Jackets (32-9) who are coming off a road sweep of fifth-ranked Florida State. The clubs meet three times a year, once each at home and then final game of the series will be at Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves, on May 10th. Wednesday's game in Athens will be televised live by CSS beginning at 7:06 p.m. ET. Back on April 12th in Atlanta, Ga. Tech posted an 8-2 win over Georgia.
Tickets prices are $6 for reserved seats, $6 general admission adults and $2 for general admission youth. UGA Students are admitted for free with their UGA ID. Tickets are available by calling 1-877-542-1231 and on gameday. The Foley Field ticket windows open two hours before the scheduled first pitch time.
SEC: Georgia hits the road in the SEC this weekend and that has been a good thing this season. The Bulldogs are 2-7 in SEC home games this year and 5-4 on the road. Georgia has dropped home series to Alabama, Ole Miss and most recently Tennessee this past weekend. However, the Bulldogs won SEC road series at then #3 Miss. State, #11 Arkansas and managed one win at then #18 Vanderbilt. Up next in the SEC, Georgia faces Florida in Gainesville.
