BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- Senior Patricia Sylvester was named Southeastern Conference Field Athlete of the Week by the conference on Wednesday following her performance at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.

Sylvester (River Salle, Grenada) won a pair of events and placed second in another during the fourth outdoor meet of the season for the Lady Bulldogs, who are tied for fourth in the nation. Sylvester registered the second-longest triple jump in school history (44 feet, 2 ¾ inches) to win and had a personal-best long jump of 20-8 (sixth-best in Georgia history) to place first in her second event. In the high jump, she finished second after clearing 5-10.75. All three of Sylvester's marks were NCAA regional qualifying marks.

Georgia hosts the Bulldog Limited and Heptathlon at the Spec Towns Track in Athens on Friday and Saturday. The meet's first event is the 100-meter hurdles (heptathlon) at 10 a.m. on Friday and action starts on Saturday with the men's discus.
