Georgia Softball Posts Doubleheader Sweep over Furman

ATHENS, Ga. --- The No. 9-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (43-9) extended their winning streak to 15 games on Tuesday with a doubleheader sweep over the Furman Paladins (24-31) at the Georgia Softball Complex.
The Bulldogs posted an 8-0 win in six innings in game one before completing the sweep with a 5-2 victory in the nightcap.
Kasi Carroll (21-3) tallied the game one win for the Bulldogs after hurling four scoreless frames, striking out six.
Sojourner Moody paced the Georgia offense in game one after going 3-for-3 with an RBI. Ashley Godfrey also contributed a hit and three RBI in the win.
Carroll collected the game two win in the circle for Georgia scattering two earned runs and six hits in 7.0 innings.
Four Bulldog hitters turned in multi-hit performance in game two. Courtney Knight went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI while Carroll contributed two extra-base hits and two RBI.
Moody gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game one after tallying a two-out RBI single.
The Bulldogs extended their lead to 5-0 in the third inning after plating four runs. Chelsea Cantillo reached on a one-out triple. Pinch-runner Victoria Sanders would later score on an error. Jessica Doucette, who reached on a fielder's choice, scored on Alison Horne's RBI single. Godfrey reached home on an error while Carroll plated Horne with an RBI ground out.
