ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia's Joey Side and Gordon Beckham combined for six hits and eight RBI to pace a 14-hit attack as the Bulldogs defeated Louisville 13-5 Saturday at Foley Field.

The Bulldogs (10-2) chased Louisville starter David Torcise in the fifth right after the Cardinals (5-10) had given him a 3-2 advantage. Georgia grabbed a 2-0 lead in the third when Side drew a walk and scored on a triple by Beckham. A run-scoring single by Jason Jacobs brought Beckham home. The Cardinals got a two-out, two-run single from Nick Haley. On the play, he looked to take second as the throw came home. Jacobs stepped in front of the plate and tried to get Haley at second, and his throw sailed in to centerfield, allowing Haley to score and give Louisville a 3-2 lead..

The Bulldogs responded with three runs courtesy of a two-run triple by Side and a sacrifice fly by Beckham to reclaim a 5-3 edge. Beckham (3-for-4) had a career high five RBI while Side (3-for-5) finished a home run shy of the cycle. The Cardinals got a run back in the sixth. Isaiah Howes tripled down the left field line and scored on base hit by Jorge Castillo (2-for-4, 2 RBI).

Georgia answered with five runs on three hits in the bottom of the sixth to build a 10-4 lead. Bobby Felmy led off the frame by blasting a solo home run to center field, his first of the year. Georgia then loaded the bases via a walk to Ryan Peisel, a Matt Robbins double, and a walk to Matthew Dunn. With two outs in the inning, Beckham delivered a two-run single to right, and runners remained on the corners. A balk by Cardinal relief pitcher Jon Harbridge brought Dunn home and Beckham to second. The bases would again become loaded after walks were issued to Jacobs and Morris. Felmy then was hit by a pitch scoring Beckham.
