UGA QB Shockley Named Winner of FCA Bobby Bowden Award

ATHENS --- University of Georgia senior quarterback D.J. Shockley has been named the winner of the 2005 Bobby Bowden Award presented annually by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

The award recognizes the Division 1-A football player who epitomizes the student-athlete who conducts himself as a faith model in the community, in the classroom, and on the field. Nominees must have a 3.0 or higher grade point average as well.

Other finalists were Grayling Love, Arizona State, and Ben Obomanu, Auburn. The award is named for Florida State University football coach Bobby Bowden.
