Cameron Ellis Signs With Georgia

ATHENS --- Walton High School senior standout Cameron Ellis has signed a national letter-of-intent to attend the University of Georgia, Bulldog head coach Jeff Wallace announced Monday.
Ellis, the 2006 Atlanta Journal-Constitution Tennis Athlete of the Year, has led the Raiders to three consecutive Class AAAAA state titles. She has played number one in the lineup for coach Roberta Manheim all three seasons. Ellis has not lost a set in two years. She is the daughter of Vicki and Wayne Ellis.
Ellis has been rated as a Blue Chip recruit by Tennis Recruiting.Net. She has been ranked among the top players in the USTA Southern Section. Also, she trains in Marietta with coach Jerry Baskin.
“We’re thrilled to have Cameron Ellis join us next year,” said Wallace. “She has had a great junior career. I know she will be excited to start playing college tennis next season. Cameron has been well coached by a good friend in Jerry Baskin, and I know she will contribute to our success right away.”
