October 3, 1987 - TB Rodney Hampton set the Georgia single game record for all-purpose running with 290 yards. He rushed for 227 yards, caught passes for 28 yards, and returned kickoffs for another 35 yards in a victory over Ole Miss at Oxford.

October 3, 1997 - Swimming great Reid Patterson was inducted into Georgia's Circle of Honor. Patterson won the 1953 NCAA 100-yard freestyle title and set a world record in the 50-meter freestyle.
