October 14, 1972 - Georgia nips Ole Miss in a triller comeback victory. The play of the day was QB James Ray’s perfect strike down the middle to Hal Bissell for a 79-yard TD. The Dawgs went on to victory, 14-13.
October 14, 1978 - Freshman Lindsay Scott stunned the partisan crowd with a 99-yard touchdown on the opening kickoff of the second half as Georgia edged LSU 24-17 in Baton Rouge. All-SEC tailback Willie McClendon paced the Bulldog offense with 145 yards rushing.
October 14, 2004 - Former University of Georgia football player William Young named the 2004 recipient of the Bill Hartman Award.
