Bulldogs Travel to Puerto Rico for Spring Exhibitions

ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia volleyball team will open its spring schedule with two matches this weekend in Puerto Rico. The Bulldogs will play the Puerto Rico National Training team on Saturday morning and the Indias de Mayaguez professional team on Monday.
Georgia's 2005 squad is led by a group of four seniors, including third-team All-American MB Alexandra Oquendo. In 2004, Oquendo's .410 hitting percentage was the highest in Georgia history as she led the Bulldogs to their first NCAA tournament appearance since 1995.
Senior OH Julia Petruschke returns after earning second-team All-SEC honors a year ago and RS Meagan Welch and DS Liz Pace will be back for a fourth year as well.
Georgia's spring schedule also includes a match at Clemson on April 5 and a tournament at South Carolina on April 9.
