UGA Golfers Finish Second In Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS - The third-ranked Georgia men's golf team finished second on Sunday at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship, trailing only the host team UNLV.

The Bulldogs carded a 5-over 293 in the final round to finish at 6-over 870 for the 54-hole event. The Runnin' Rebels wound up at 9-under 855.

Georgia was led by sophomore Chris Kirk and senior David Denham, both of whom finished tied for sixth at 1-under 215. Kirk closed strong on Sunday, posting a 4-under 68, while Denham ended with a 1-over 73. They were six shots behind co-medalists Daniel Im of UCLA and Mark Anderson of South Carolina.

Junior Kevin Kisner wound up at 8-over 224, including Sunday's 7-over 79. Sophomore Brendon Todd had a final-round 4-over 76 for a 9-over 225 total, while junior Richard Scott (76 on Sunday) was a shot back at 10-over 226.

Georgia will return to action Friday through Sunday at the Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro.
