Denham, Todd Have Top-8 Finishes In Puerto Rico

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico - The top-ranked Georgia men's golf team placed two golfers in the top eight in the Puerto Rico Classic, which concluded on Tuesday.
Senior David Denham and sophomore Brendon Todd paced the Bulldogs, who finished fifth as a team. Denham tied for sixth at 5-under 211, including a final-round 1-under 71. Denham finished seven shots behind medalist Alejandro Canizares of Arizona State (204). Todd tied for eighth at 4-under 212 after firing a 3-under 69 on Tuesday.
As a team, Georgia fired a 1-over 865, including a 1-over 289 on Tuesday. Georgia Tech won the tournament with a team score of 845.
Also for the Bulldogs, sophomore Chris Kirk wound up tied for 21st at 1-over 217 after carding a final-round 1-over 73. Junior Richard Scott had a 4-over 76 on Tuesday to come in tied for 53rd at 9-over 225, while junior Kevin Kisner tied for 65th at 12-over 228 with a final-round 5-over 77.
Former Georgia golfer Taylor Crosby, now competing for North Carolina State, finished tied for 35th and led the Wolfpack at 5-over 221.
The Bulldogs will return to action March 11-13 at the Las Vegas Intercollegiate.
