Ask Coach Felton

Q: I remember reading that Kendrick Johnson had season ending ankle surgery. I'm assuming it was a quicker comeback since he was listed as playing in the FAMU game. Very exciting news!

Also, quick question about Albert Jackson. Is he a post up stay on the blocks type center or more of an athletic player who can move around a good bit. Coming from Oak Hill, he has to be a versatile player. Just wanted to get your opinion. Thanks and good luck this season. GO DUNKIN' DAWGS!!!!
J.A. POPHAM - SYLVESTER, GEORGIA

A: J.A. thanks for your questions. About a week into practice and just days before the his scheduled surgery, Kendrick changed his mind and wanted to try to play this season and put off surgery till after the season. He is playing in discomfort and we are severely limiting his practice time to nurse him into games and evaluating him daily.

Albert Jackson is very strong and athletic and has some range to his face up jump shot but is primarily a low post player right now. Albert also has good mobility, running ability and is a terrific shot blocker.

Q: What happened to Alex Evans from Sprayberry High School?
GARY ICKS - ATLANTA

A: Gary, Alex's accumulated knee injuries prevents him from being able to compete anymore.

Q: Coach Felton, do you think that this year's basketball team has a chance to make the NCAA Tournament? Do you think your team can win the SEC this year?
BRANDON JONES - WARNER ROBINS, GEORGIA

A: Thanks for your questions Brandon. As long as we have the opportunity to compete and play the games we have a chance to earn championships and a bid to the NCAA Tournament. Our focus is on improving every day and every game. If we are able to improve rapidly with this very young group of guys, all of those things are possible. We have a lot of to do though.
