On the celebration after the win over Kentucky - "We definitely celebrated because we had clinched the (SEC) Eastern Division and because it was a longtime coming for a victory. This was definitely a championship for us and we enjoyed it, but then we started talking about the Tech game and how much this game is a rivalry and also how much winning it would mean to our program."
On Georgia Tech beating No. 3-ranked Miami on Saturday night - "I saw a good bit of the game if not all of it. Georgia Tech got with it and frustrated Miami's offense. They really controlled the game overall. I think this game with Georgia Tech next week had our guys' attention, but after the game on Saturday night there is no doubt they will be getting even more serious about their preparations for next Saturday."
On the Georgia-Georgia Tech rivalry - "Well, it's our in-state rival. The game has the very biggest tradition and I don't think that will ever change. It's all about bragging rights across the state."
On the Georgia-Georgia Tech game being at night - "The cold temperatures are not that big a deal, but if it's cold, wet and windy (like it was in 2004), then it can make for a tough day."
On Georgia's injuries - "I think Charles Johnson has a pretty good chance of playing against Georgia Tech. Tra Battle has a very good chance of playing since his symptoms have gone away. Tripp (Chandler) has a high-ankle sprain and Tony Taylor is doing well after his knee surgery, but he has no chance of playing this weekend."
On sophomore Kelin Johnson starting his first game - "I haven't talked to Willie (Martinez) about his performance, but he did well from what I could see on tape. Of course, he came up and hit some folks just like we expected."
