Bulldogs Win Again At Isleworth Invitational

WINDERMERE, Fla. -- The top-ranked Georgia men's golf team defended its title at the Second Annual Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday, posting a seven-shot victory over Oklahoma State.
In winning their second tournament in three tries this season, the Bulldogs wound up at 8-over 872, including a 14-over 302 on Tuesday. Georgia and Oklahoma State (879) were neck and neck for most of the day until the Bulldogs pulled away on the back nine.
"I couldn't be prouder of our guys," Georgia coach Chris Haack said. "We played with a lot of confidence and with a lot of poise, which was important since we were paired with Oklahoma State today. The guys deserve an awful lot of credit."
Junior Chris Kirk, the Isleworth co-medalist a year ago, finished second at 2-under 214, just three shots behind Oklahoma State's Pablo Martin. Kirk shot a final-round 3-over 75.
Senior Kevin Kisner and freshman Brian Harman also posted top-20 finishes. Kisner closed with an even-par 72 for a total of 2-over 218, to finish tied for third, while Harman had a 4-over 76 to wind up at 5-over 221 and a tie for 11th.
Freshman Adam Mitchell, making his Georgia debut, finished tied for 22nd at 8-over 224, including a final-round 7-over 79. Senior Richard Scott (12-over 84) rounded out the Bulldogs' lineup at 12-over 228.
The Bulldogs will return to action Nov. 4-6 at the Carpet Capital Collegiate in Rocky Face. Georgia is the defending champion.
