Audra Janak, a freshman from Dallas, Texas, is gaining experience and making significant strides as a setter for the Bulldogs. She earned the first start of her career last weekend against South Carolina and was again in the lineup against Tennessee. Janak finished with a career-high 34 assists and 16 digs in Georgia's victory over the Gamecocks. She recently sat down following a match for a Q and A.
Q: How is college life treating you so far?
A: "Really good. Volleyball helps me stay focused in many areas. I have been able to keep my priorities in order."
Q: There are now three players from Texas on the team. Has having Liz Pace and Meagan Welch here helped with your transition?
"Yes, it's cool to be from the highest represented state on the team. We share in our Texas pride."
Q: You and Liz graduated from the same high school in Dallas. Were you two acquainted before you arrived at Georgia?
A: "We had met through volleyball a couple of times, but I'm glad to have someone here that I can relate to since she has a similar background."
Q: You have seen a fair amount of playing time so far this year. Can you share a couple of things you have learned from live match action.
A: "The pace of the game is much faster. The biggest thing is focusing on pursuing every ball as if it is the last one."
