The Georgia Track teams are headed for a snowy climate this weekend as they travel to Champaign, Ill. for the Illinois Health Alliance Classic. It is the first time Georgia track will compete at the University of Illinois.
"We will compete against teams that we usually do not meet very often, so it is an opportunity for our team to develop competitiveness," head coach Wayne Norton said. "Learning how to compete in various settings against various opponents will be a good test for us."
The Lady Bulldogs, currently ranked 20th nationally, will look to build on a successful opening meet last weekend at Clemson. Georgia women achieved two NCAA automatic qualifying marks via Krysha Bayley's indoor personal best in long jump (21-6.75) and Jenny Dahlgren in weight throw (69-4.75). Shenae Dawkins also earned an NCAA provisional mark in triple jump (41-7.75).
