Q: I was wondering how important it is to promote myself to colleges through videotapes, stats, etc. Or how else would a player be noticed by an out of state college coach? Or will my high school coach do all this for me?
Zack Russell
Indianapolis, Indiana

A: I wouldn't worry about sending out a lot of videotapes. Your coach can help you or scouts that have seen you play. Also, we recommend you attend summer camps at schools you are interested in attending as a good way for the coaching staff to see you.

Q: What showcases do you attend or recommend?
Mike Basler
Stillwell, Kansas

A: We try to attend various showcases around the country but specifically the East Coast event and the summer tournaments especially in East Cobb here in the state. Most schools like Georgia have summer camps which is a good way to be seen too.

Q: It is great to keep up with you as the head coach at Georgia. You were a great assistant during your brief time at Marshall. I wish you and the Dawgs well this year and in the future. I guess I will have to wait until next year to bring my son to UK and see you.
