Georgia Advances to Winner's Bracket of NCAA Regional

ATHENS, Ga. - The Georgia softball team advanced in the winner's bracket of NCAA Regional competition on Thursday at the Georgia softball stadium with a 10-0, five-inning win over Eastern Kentucky. Bulldog pitchers Kasi Carroll and Michelle Greene combined for Georgia's fifth perfect game of the year.

The Bulldogs will face Georgia Tech at 12:30 p.m. in second-round action on Friday.

Carroll worked the first two innings of the game facing just six batters with three strikeouts. The Bulldogs scored eight runs in Carroll's innings and she gave way to Greene in the top of the third. Greene (18-4) earned the win and faced nine batters in her three innings with five strikeouts.
