Auburn, Ala. -- The No. 8-ranked Georgia women's golf team was tied for 12th with two players remaining on the course during Tuesday's second round of the NCAA Championships when play was suspended due to lightning.

Whitney Wade and Jackie Beers will return to the Lake Course at Grand National at 7:00 a.m. CT to complete their rounds. Wade was on the 17th hole of play, while Beers was a 10-foot putt away from wrapping up her day.

The late afternoon stoppage halted what was an impressive rally from a slow start by Georgia. The Lady Dogs teed off from No. 10 on Tuesday and UGA's playing five turned at a combined 14-over but were 3-under on the second half of the course when play stopped.

"We got off to a rough start, but I was very proud of the way the girls fought back," head coach Todd McCorkle said. "I'm not happy with where we are, but I think it says a lot about our team the way they played after such a bad start. We're capable of some very special things and our play this afternoon showed that."
