ATHENS, Ga.----The Georgia volleyball team has started spring practice and is looking to build on its 2003 campaign that finished at 18-13 and included 10 wins in the SEC. It was the first time Georgia finished with 10 wins in the conference since the 1997 season.

Georgia returns 10 of 14 players from last year although junior Andrea Fisher will miss all of the spring workouts while recovering from off-season shoulder surgery.

On Saturday the Bulldogs host an exhibition tournament at the Ramsey Center that will include the teams from Central Florida, UNC Chapel Hill and Georgia Tech. Single-game matches are scheduled on two courts in the volleyball arena for 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. At 1:15 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. Georgia will play in a pair of three-game matches.

"We've spent a lot of time with our strength coach Rob Livingstone so we're in great physical condition and you can see that difference on the court," said head coach Mary Buczek. "Individually, each of the players have made great progress and now that we're into team practices we're just starting to put it together.
