ATHENS, Ga. - Michelle Green's no-hit performance propelled the No. 5-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (29-6, 7-2 SEC) to a 3-0 win over the Mercer Bears (20-19) on Tuesday afternoon at the Women's Athletic Complex on South Milledge. Green's no-hitter marked her fourth of the season and the ninth of her career.

Nicole Barber led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run over the fence in right field, her first blast of the season. Two batters later, Kim Wendland doubled to center field and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Shannon McKeon collected her 27th RBI of the season with a single that scored Wendland from third, giving Georgia a 2-0 lead.

Wendland collected her team-leading seventh home run of the season in the third inning, a one-out blast that cleared the fence in right field.

Green (14-3) made her 16th start of the season for the Bulldogs, scattering no hits and striking out 14. Green's 14 strikeouts marked her 10th double-digit strikeout performance of the season.

Katie Rosentreter (13-7) started in the circle for the Bears and pitched a complete game, allowing three runs on seven hits, striking out six.

Barber and Wendland led all Bulldog hitters with two hits on the afternoon.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday with a doubleheader against Arkansas. Play is set to begin at 1 p.m. EST.
