BATON ROUGE, La. -- The No. 7-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (28-6, 7-2 SEC) took game three of the rubber match against the No. 5-ranked LSU Tigers (27-7, 7-4 SEC) with a 4-2 win at Tiger Park on Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs 4-2 win marks the first time that LSU has lost a three-game home series in school history. Katie Griffith (10-2) became the second freshman pitcher to collect a win in the series against the Tigers, after Kasi Carroll earned a win in the circle on Saturday.
Ashley Godfrey got the Bulldogs started in the top of the second inning with a single, and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt off the bat of Julie Milner. Nicole Barber recorded a two-out RBI double that scored Godfrey from second, giving Georgia an early 1-0 lead.
