Bulldogs Open Season Friday Against Bethune Cookman

Georgia opens the season Friday, Feb. 13 at 4 p.m. with a three-game series against Bethune Cookman, one of 11 Bulldog opponents that advanced to an NCAA Regional last season. The Wildcats are 0-2 after opening up with Jacksonville this past weekend. They face Florida Atlantic at home Tuesday before heading to Athens.

Georgia's other non-conference foes that made it to postseason play in 2003 include UNC-Wilmington, Clemson and Ga. Tech. The SEC teams that made it were Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Mississippi, Miss. State and South Carolina. LSU and South Carolina reached the College World Series. Overall, the Bulldogs have 31 games against teams that advanced to NCAA Regional play last season.

SEASON OPENER, MEET THE TEAM
Georgia is the oldest varsity sport on campus with a record of 1,788-1,339-22 in records dating back to 1886. In season openers, available records have the Bulldogs with a 62-30 mark. This is the first meeting between the Diamond Dogs and the Wildcats of Bethune Cookman.
